Hybrid imaging

Hybrid imaging, in particular PET/CT, plays a central role in the precise diagnosis of oncological, cardiological and neurological diseases. By combining functional and morphological information in one examination procedure, pathological processes can not only be visualized, but also precisely localized and quantified.

These high-performance procedures are carried out at the University Hospital of Cologne by the Clinic and Polyclinic for Nuclear Medicine (Prof. Dr. A. Drzezga). Radiology is closely involved in all cases - both in the indication and in the diagnosis. This close, interdisciplinary cooperation guarantees a high-quality, clinically coordinated interpretation of the image data and contributes significantly to well-founded treatment decisions.
