Teaching

In view of the rapid technical advances in radiology and medicine as a whole, but also in many areas of social life, it was time to fundamentally modernize and digitize teaching in the Department of Radiology. For this reason, a new, modern teaching concept was developed for radiology teaching at the University Hospital of Cologne. This has now been implemented step by step. This teaching concept included the development of a curriculum that is adapted to the needs of radiology at Cologne University Hospital and is based on the curriculum of the German Radiological Society. In addition, all teaching content was revised and updated.

The teaching content now builds stringently on each other and the specifically placed redundancies promote the consolidation of content. All lectures, courses and practicals are coordinated with each other and are designed to impart comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for later clinical work - whether as a radiologist or in another clinical specialty. And most importantly, it is designed to make this great, exciting and diverse subject fun!

The Institute is actively involved in a number of competence fields . We also offer radiology elective block courses as well as other teaching and training events.

All content-related and organizational matters (course materials, rotation schedules, lecture plans, etc.) are always up-to-date in ILIAS, the eLearning system of the University of Cologne.

Trainees, doctoral students and PJ students are always welcome. We offer them a varied environment in which they can get to know and appreciate all facets of radiology. Please refer to the respective information pages for clinical traineeships, PJs and doctorates .
