Neuroradiology
As a highly specialized field, the Neuroradiology Section offers the entire spectrum of neuroradiological diagnostics and therapy, including all minimally invasive interventional procedures. We are responsible for the neuroradiological diagnosis of all diseases of the brain and spinal cord as well as the head and neck organs. In therapy, we work in close interdisciplinary cooperation with the clinics for neurosurgery, neurology, ear, nose and throat medicine, stereotaxy and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
We see ourselves as part of the elite University of Cologne and treat our patients according to the latest therapy concepts, which incorporate the latest research findings to ensure the highest possible medical quality in the treatment of our patients.
Second opinion and consultation requests
Have you been diagnosed with an aneurysm or other vascular malformation and are unsure whether or how it should be treated?
Not every aneurysm or vascular malformation needs to be treated. If you decide to treat it, neuroradiological coiling or neurosurgical clipping are by no means competing procedures. Depending on the shape and location of an aneurysm, the age of the patient and other accompanying circumstances, one or the other procedure may be more appropriate. In the case of vascular malformations, neuroradiological embolization and/or neurosurgical operation, radiotherapy or a wait-and-see approach may be appropriate. In any case, an individually tailored consultation is important. Please contact us by e-mail at neuroradiologie@uk-koeln.de. You can send us images on CD and/or visit us in person by appointment.
We also process consultation requests from practices or external hospitals. For more information, please visit the page on consultation requests.
