Structure of the institute
As one of the most modern radiology departments in Germany, the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Cologne University Hospital offers a wide range of examination methods from all key clinical areas.
As a core specialty, we treat a wide range of diseases with our diagnostic and interventional procedures. Our experts regularly take part in case conferences in an advisory capacity. We are partners in many clinical studies and conduct a wide range of our own research projects.
Locations
The Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital of Cologne is "at home" in various buildings of the university hospital in order to provide the fastest and most specialized patient care possible.
Our "headquarters" has been located in the Diagnostic and Therapy Center West (DTZ) since the beginning of 2015. You can reach it by walking from the main entrance in the direction of the Central Emergency Department and following the signs. The radiology department is located in the DTZ on the ground floor (X-ray, mammography, angiography, clinic management with secretariat) and on the first floor (CT, MRI). Site plan DTZ
The Central Emergency Department (ZNA) also houses another CT, X-ray and fluoroscopy facilities as well as a sonography unit. Emergency patients are mainly, but not exclusively, treated here. Site plan of the emergency room
Attached to the orthopaedics building, in an adjacent low-rise building (building 43a), there are three further MRIs. The orthopaedic clinic also has an X-ray facility (on the 1st floor). Site plan orthopaedics
Another CT and MRI scanner as well as X-ray diagnostics can be found in the basement of the neurology clinic. Site plan Neurology
The young patients of the pediatric clinic are treated in a special department for pediatric radiology in the basement of the pediatric clinic. Additional X-ray and sonography equipment is available here. Map of the pediatric clinic
